What is sensory play?
Sensory development is the brain’s way of analysing the world with the help of five senses – touch, taste, smell, sight and sound. Exploring through these senses allows a child to find and get a clear understanding of how the world works.
Sensory activities have expanded beyond the five senses to include a child’s sense of balance and their ability to judge a position in space. As the child grows, their brains and their sensory development expand. Nowadays there has been an increasing focus on the importance of sensory skills in the development of a child. Here sensory playground plays an integral role which encourages highly effective sensory learning in the form of play.
